Padova wins the Coppa Italia

After the 0-0 draw in the first leg at the Euganeo stadium, in the return match in Bolzano the team from Veneto wins thanks to a fatal free kick.

FC Südtirol loses against Padova at the “Druso” Stadium in the decisive return match of the final of the Italian Cup Serie C 2021-2022. It ends 0-1 and with regret for the team from Alto Adige, author, however, of an excellent performance.

The first half shows a clear territorial supremacy of the hosts, close to scoring several times, but in the second half an episode on a loose ball allows Padova to take the lead. Jelenic shoots a free kick directly on goal, the ball bounces in front of Meli and enters the net: 0-1. FC Südtirol continue to keep possession of the ball and look for the goal. Lots of chances, but no goal. Padova defends the result and raises the Coppa Italia.

For the “biancorossi” it was the first and historic appearance in the decisive challenge of the second most important tournament of the Lega Pro. FC Südtirol now prepares for the final rush to arrive in shape and motivated for the last matches of the season that are worth the promotion to Serie B.
